Privacy policy
Last updated 5 October 2026
onesub (evidekaanam.com) is an open, community-built guide to where films are streaming, run by an individual in the United Kingdom. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, what is public, and what you can ask us to do with it. Questions or requests: bingethetubeemails@gmail.com.
The short version
- You can browse without an account. We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we never sell data.
- Signing in uses your Google account. We keep your email address and the name on that account privately; your username is what other people see.
- onesub is open by design: sightings you log, films you add, and your watchlist (including what you’ve watched) are public on your profile and the film pages, under your username.
- Email bingethetubeemails@gmail.com and we’ll delete your account.
What we collect
When you sign in with Google, Google tells us your email address and the name on your Google account. We never see your Google password, contacts or anything else in your account. We store:
- your email address and Google account name — private, used only to recognise you when you sign in;
- your username — public;
- your home region (e.g. UK), if you set it — used for your subscription pick;
- when you joined.
What you contribute — public, shown with your username:
- sightings: which film you saw on which streaming service, in which region, and on what date;
- films you add, and the link you gave as evidence;
- your watchlist and the films you’ve marked as watched, with dates, shown on your profile;
- votes on other people’s sightings — only the totals are shown, not who voted, though we store who cast each vote so you can change it.
Public pages can be seen by anyone and may be indexed by search engines. Retracting a sighting hides it everywhere on the site, but we keep the record so the history stays auditable.
Your TMDB key
If you add a TMDB API key in Settings, it is kept only in a secure cookie in your browser. It is sent to our server with your requests so the server can fetch film details from TMDB on your behalf, and is never saved in our database or logs. Remove it at any time in Settings; signing out also removes it.
Visitor statistics and server data
We count visits with Umami, which we run ourselves. It uses no cookies and doesn’t store IP addresses; we see totals such as page views, referring sites, browser types and countries. Our servers also keep aggregate health figures (request counts, error rates, response times) and short-lived error logs, used only to keep the site running and secure.
Why we use it
To provide the service you sign up for (your account, watchlist and pick), and in our legitimate interest in running an open, community record of where films are streaming, keeping it secure and free of abuse, and understanding how the site is used in aggregate. We don’t use your data for advertising or profiling.
Where it is stored and who else is involved
- Hetzner (Germany, EU) hosts the site and database.
- Amazon Web Services (Frankfurt, EU) stores encrypted database backups, kept for 14 days.
- Google handles sign-in, under Google’s own privacy policy.
- TMDB receives requests for film details made with your key, if you add one.
We don’t sell, rent or share your personal data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account until you ask us to delete it. When you do, we delete your email address, name, home region and watchlist, and remove your sightings, votes and films you added — or, if you prefer, keep them without any link to you. Copies in backups disappear within 14 days.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, object to how we use it, or ask for it in a portable format. Email bingethetubeemails@gmail.com; we’ll reply within a month. You can change your username and home region yourself in Settings. If you’re unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
onesub isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top; for significant changes we’ll also say so on the site.
